Project Overview


Calmec were awarded the contract to carry out a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) installation within a new modern warehouse facility being built, complete with workshops, testing facilities, offices and welfare facilities including a canteen.

The goal of the building was to provide a state-of-the-art central location to bring all the client’s facilities under one roof.

With so many different areas within one building, our brief was to design a system that would work efficiently to keep each area comfortable temperatures throughout the year, while also providing sufficient ventilation for fresh air across the office and well-being spaces and removal of any particulates and dust from workshops and testing facilities.


The team at Calmec designed, manufactured and installed a complete HVAC system for each space in the building. At the design stage, we ensured that all the best professional input from manufacturers and designers was collated into a singular focus and implemented into the design. 

Our CAD design team drew a blueprint mapping out several systems for the various areas within the facility. For the warehouses, we proposed four state-of-the-art packaged units that would improve energy efficiency, which was an integral aim for the system being put into the large and energy-demanding space.

For the office areas and test rooms, we designed a system that heated and cooled using modern, energy-efficient air conditioning systems utilising Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) technology which allows for temperature control within individual areas.


Calmec’s commitment to efficiency and precision was exemplified by our proactive approach to the fabrication and insulation of ductwork components within our state-of-the-art production facility. Harnessing the latest technologies and skilled craftsmanship, our dedicated team crafted each ductwork element to exacting specifications, ensuring optimal performance and longevity once installed as part of the comprehensive ventilation system.

Prefabricating these vital components off-site conferred a myriad of benefits to the project execution process. By shifting the assembly process to our controlled environment, we were able to maintain strict quality control measures, meticulously inspecting each component for accuracy and integrity before it left our facility. This proactive approach not only minimised the risk of errors or defects but also expedited the production timeline, facilitating a seamless transition to the installation phase.
